Wreaths are often quite expensive. A DIY wreath, on the other hand, is a fun, creative craft that will dress up your front door for the holidays! You can start with the branches of fir or evergreen trees, wire, or even something as simple as a cardboard disc. Glue mistletoe, bows, bells, colourful bulbs, and other touches of Christmas to your base. There are so many different patterns and design ideas to choose from, and you can stylize your wreath to go with your holiday home decor
There is nothing kids love more than Christmas morning, and an advent calendar lets them count it down with a new treat every day from the beginning of December. You can make little boxes in the shape of Christmas lights that hang from garland, comes in ornaments on the tree, or with little treats in a small wintery village.
You can make your calendar with paper, ribbon, or crocheting if you're good with the knitting needles. Homemade advent calendars are great for children with dietary restrictions who can't enjoy the more conventional calendars from the store!
There are generally two types of ornaments: the glass balls that look very nice, and the ones that mean something. Making meaningful ornaments together creates new Christmas memories, and it's always fun to see what your children can come up with. You don't need to spend too much, either: construction paper, paint, old toys, and your standard craft materials will do the trick. Loop a ribbon through a small hole in the ornament and hang it on the tree with your family!
